I regret telling a lie to my teacher .
= I regret that I told a lie to my teacher .
我很遗憾的告诉你我不能去那了。
I regret to tell you that we can’t go there .
so...that...与such…that…引导结果状语从句的区别
这两种结构都可以引导结果状语从句，so是副词，后接形容词或者副词，such是形容词，后接名词．此外还需注意以下几点：
１．在两者中间出现单数可数名词，且该名词前有形容词修饰时，二者可以互换：
so+adj.+a/an+n. ==such+a/an.+adj+n.
例如：
She is such a good teacher that all of us like her very much.==She is so good a teacher that all of us like her very much.
2．如果被修饰的是复数可数名词或者不可数名词，只能用such…that…
例如：
1.They are such interesting books that we all want to read them.
2.He made such rapid progress that before long he began to wrote articles in English.
３．如果被修饰的是复数可数名词或者不可数名词，且该名词前有
many,much,little,few修饰时，只能用so…that…例如：
1.I've had so many falls that I'm black and blue all over.
2.He had so little money that he had to get a job.
