①father和mother在比较正式的场合下使用，或是向别人介绍自己的父母时使用。如:  My father and mother are teacher. 
dad和mom是孩子对自己父母的亲昵称呼。
英语中father, dad和mother, mom的区别，和中文里父亲和爸爸，母亲和妈妈的区别一样。英语中grandfather, grandmother和grandma的区别，也是如此。
